Maits Services Ltd also offers sea freight from Nigeria to the United Kingdom for larger, heavier or non-urgent consignments where cost is the priority over speed. Shipments are booked through our Lagos office (Maits Global Service Ltd) and arrive at our Purfleet, Essex facility, or are delivered onward to your UK address.

FCL vs LCL
As with our outbound sea freight service, we offer both options:
- Full Container Load (FCL): Book an entire container for larger shipments
- Less than Container Load (LCL): Share container space and pay only for the volume you use, billed by Cubic Metre (CBM)
General rule: If your cargo is under 10–12 CBM, LCL is usually more economical. Above that, FCL becomes competitive.
Transit Time
Sea freight from Nigeria to the UK typically takes approximately 4–6 weeks from vessel sailing date, subject to port schedules and UK customs clearance.
